RIU Opens the 573-room Riu Playa Blanca in Panama


RIU Hotels & Resorts has opened its second hotel in Panama, which has involved a total investment of 100 million Dollars. The Riu Playa Blanca, located in Coclé province, joins the hotel Riu Plaza Panama which has recently celebrated its third birthday. With this project, RIU extends its hotel range and offers its guests the chance to enjoy a holiday in Panama that combines a city break with a relaxing stay on the beachfront with 24 hours All Inclusive service.

Centara Hotels & Resorts to Debut in Laos with a 2017 Opening of Centara Grand Hotel Vientiane


Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thailand's leading operator of hotels, is opening five-star luxurious Centara Grand Hotel Vientiane, its first hotel in Laos in 2017.

Located in the downtown district of Vientiane, the Laotian capital, the 200 room hotel will be designed in the French colonial style and feature Centara's five-star facilities, including two restaurants, a Spa Cenvaree, a Kids'Club, swimming pool, fitness center and meeting facilities including a ballroom. Construction Pipeline Declines Further in Europe and the Middle East


In Europe, the total Construction Pipeline at year-end 2013 stood at 734 projects/126,249 rooms, down 5% and 1% respectively from year-end 2012. Pipeline growth has been sluggish as widespread austerity measures have slowed the region's overall economic recovery. Many countries reported, however, that 4th Quarter economic activity was the highest in three years.

Minor Hotel Group further strengthens entry into Mozambique with Anantara and AVANI brands
